Shana currently teaches K-6 music at Mark Twain Elementary and Richardson Terrace Elementary in Richardson ISD where she has special interests in Orff and Kodaly, STEM integration, and TBRI strategies. Shana has previously served as a special education teacher in Richardson ISD, taught Algebra I, Geometry, Consumer Math at The Winston School in Dallas and also served as their director of bands and choruses. Currently, Shana also serves as a part time director of the Wilshire Wind Symphony at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas. Shana has a BM in Church Music from Union University, MM in Church Music with an emphasis in Music Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and MEd in School Leadership from Lamar University. For the 2019-20 school year, Shana is a Teach Plus DFW Policy Fellow, influencing education policy at the local and state levels. Shana lives in Wylie with husband Ron, daughter Abigail (who will be a student at Dobie Primary this fall), cat Snowbelle, and dog Kamara. Shana enjoys watching college football, cooking, and crafting.
