This session will give participants a new perspective on the risks associated with the use of inhaled tobacco and nicotine products as they experience a hands-on demonstration with both healthy and simulated smoker's lungs to help visualize the effects on the body. E-cigs and vaping are often touted as "safer" alternatives to smoking traditional cigarettes, but are they? Learn more about these "trendy" devices that are gaining rapidly in popularity, especially among adolescents.

Hear more about how diverse book choice & access can create a more effective Reading Workshop experience for ALL students. Learn about recent books you can use in the Reading Workshop Model as mentor texts. Learners will be coached on using a book from the presentation to build a mini-lesson.
